Getting started

How do students join my class?

Create a class, then share its join code (or the invite link / QR). Students sign in with Google and enter the code — they show up in your class instantly.

Do students need email addresses?

Students sign in with a Google account, so they need one — which most students already have through their school’s Google Workspace for Education.

Can I try it without students?

Yes. You can explore the assignment builders and browse the whole question library on your own before you ever add a student.

Pricing

Is High Score Math free?

High Score Math is currently free to use during the Alpha. We expect the Alpha and Beta phases to last at least a year as we build out the site. We hope you’ll join us for this ride and help us improve the site as we expand!

Privacy & safety

Is my students’ data safe?

Yes. We’re built to FERPA and COPPA norms, with schools as the authorizing party. We never show ads, never sell student data, and use no third-party analytics or tracking cookies anywhere on the site. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

What data do you collect?

Only what runs the platform: a student’s name and Google email, the classes they’re in, and their activity (answers, scores, mastery, timestamps). We don’t collect home addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, or location.

How mastery works

How is a student’s mastery calculated?

Automatically, from a student’s answers over time. You stay in control of the inputs — which standards and skills are in your curriculum, which activities count (practice, assessments, exit tickets, live games), and where the mastery cutoffs sit — in Mastery Rules.

Assignments

What kinds of assignments can I create?

Four modes: Practices, Assessments, Exit Tickets, and Live Games.

Can I schedule assignments and count them in my gradebook?

Yes — set when an assignment posts, when it’s due, and how many gradebook points it’s worth, per class.

Can I print assignments?

Yes. Any assignment can be printed as a worksheet, with control over spacing and multiple saved versions.

Coins, leagues & the arcade

Do coins and leagues affect grades?

No. The arcade — coins, treasure chests, cosmetics, and leagues — exists purely to make practice fun. It never affects a student’s grades, mastery levels, or the math they see.

What are Daily Challenges?

A short daily set of review questions drawn from what a student has practiced. They’re the one thing that feeds a student’s league rank, and every student has the same daily ceiling — so the ladder rewards consistency, not who was assigned the most.

Accounts & data

Is student progress kept year to year?

Yes. Accounts persist across school years so students keep their history and you can compare year over year.

How do I delete a student’s data?

Request it through the contact page and we honor it promptly. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Technical

What devices and browsers work?

Any modern browser on a computer, Chromebook, or iPad. There’s nothing to install.

Are there calculator or scratch-paper tools?

Yes — you can enable a calculator and an on-screen sketchpad per class, and they carry across every assignment you send that class.
